The Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation since 2008 focuses on funding investments in education, early-stage enterprise, community development, humanitarian assistance, sustainability and volunteering in the Middle East and North Africa region.
For many young people in the Middle East, barriers such as conflict, poverty, inequality and discrimination stand in the way of what they hope to achieve in life. The Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation supports and collaborates with many international and local NGOs to improve the lives of the underprivileged, respond to major humanitarian disasters and build social capital by creating opportunities, fostering talent and ensuring long-term viability in the region.
Positive Planet
In 2016 and 2017, the DB Middle East Foundation supported a project run by the international NGO Positive Planet, which helped to provide refugees and host community members in Lebanon with vocational training to enable them to generate income as well as to provide them with the necessary tool kits to start an income generating activity.
PACES
Sports is an integral and useful part of children’s lives and development, even more so in underprivileged locations, and is an area Deutsche Bank strongly engages in, which is why the Middle East Foundation has partnered with PACES this year to support healthy and structured after school sports programs in Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.
The Deutsche Bank Middle East Foundation has been a proud sponsor and supporter of PACES since 2013. Supported projects aim to provide children (aged 7-16) with access to safe playgrounds and enhance their well-being and social skills. The projects support trainers on how to better serve their communities through the use of sports.
The Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation was established in 2008, and it focuses on funding investments in education, early-stage enterprise, community development, sustainability and volunteering in the Middle East and North Africa region. Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation supports many regional and local NGO projects and initiatives. In addition, Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation works closely with global foundations and organizations like UNRWA in Palestine, Save the Children, GVC – Civil Volunteer Group, Dubai Cares and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in support of their regional programs to improve the lives of the underprivileged, to pave ways to a better future, to respond to major humanitarian disasters and to raise ecological awareness.
