Job Summary:

Daily navigate tens of donor agencies and development implementing partners web sites to identify and classify business opportunities, profit and non-for-profit organizations and businesses.  The officer is responsible on making sure that DARPE posts of tenders and grants as well as organizational profiles are timely posted, accurately classified and searchable with great accuracy and reliability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Daily identify Procurement Notices including Tenders and grants from hundreds of sources and procuring agencies of Donor Agencies and International organizations which fund, design and implement development projects throughout the Middle East region
  2. Skim and read procurement documents such as Requests for Proposals and Calls for Applications. Classify these documents per the appropriate development sectors, sub-sectors and type of professional and consulting services requested. Post such data on DARPE platforms  
  3. Search, identify, classify and post profiles of donors’ agencies, international organizations, national and regional NGOs, private development consulting businesses among other. Activities include synthesizing and writing meaningful organizational overview, classify per DARPE classification index, find and add contact information
  4. Mapping active development aid partners, create and update a comprehensive databases (Organizations' Directory)

Experience and Qualification

  • A university degree in Social Sciences including Art (English), International Development, Political Science, Sociology, etc.
  • Very good to excellent English Language
  • Worked in activities related to creating and updating databases
  • 1-3 years of similar working experience in Development Aid funded project, donor agencies and / or development implementing partners is an asset.
The evaluation and selection process usually takes two weeks after the deadline. Shortlisted applicants are invited for tests and / or interviews during this time frame. Only candidates who are seriously being considered for a position are contacted for an interview. Interviewed candidates will normally be advised of the outcome of the selection process after a period of about two weeks later than the interview’s date. Unfortunately; due to constraints on resources we will not be able to contact all applicants so if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the deadline then your application has not been successful.
