The United Arab Emirates pledged $15 million to the UN Refugee Agency to boost humanitarian aid for Sudan and its neighbors. They made this announcement on December 3, 2025, at the UNHCR’s 2026 Global Appeal conference in Geneva.
UAE’s permanent rep to the UN said the money’s will be beneficial for the protection and support programs of refugees and people forced to flee their homes, especially women, kids, and other vulnerable groups.
Since the civil war broke out in Sudan back in April 2023, the UAE has stepped up as one of the country’s biggest international donors. With this latest support, their total aid to Sudan from 2015 to 2025 now tops $4.24 billion.
Officials point out this isn’t a one-off move. It’s a piece of the UAE’s bigger push for collective humanitarian work and sharing the load, making sure people who’ve lost everything get the help they desperately need.
