Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF)
Overview
The Government of Korea established the Economic Development Cooperation Fund(EDCF) on June 1, 1987 with the purpose of promoting economic cooperation between Korea and developing countries.
As Korea has experienced in the process of economic growth in the past, developing countries are in need of experience, technology, and funds for investment in economic development. Development organizations have been responding to the requests of developing countries through Official Development Assistance (ODA), including technical assistance, and grants.
It has contributed to the economic and social development and welfare enhancement of developing countries and to the expansion of economic exchanges with Korea.
