The Refugee Investment and Matchmaking Platform (RIMP) is a World Bank Group (WBG) project which aims to bring local business, global corporations, foundations, investors and the development community together to create opportunities for refugees and host populations. The project is seeking to enroll a consulting entity to develop Business-to-Business (B2B) information sharing tools in Jordan and work on B2B leads creation, tracking and follow up mechanism. Submission deadline is 15 July 2019.

The RIMP project is financed by the World Bank Group’s SDG Trust Fund and by DFID/UK Aid and it operates in close partnership with the Government of Jordan.

The RIMP's mobilization of the private sector is built around four pillars, which are namely:

Pillar 1: Matchmaking

The first pillar seeks to identify, facilitate and promote Business-to-Business (B2B) opportunities between global and local business in support of refugees and host communities.

Pillar 2: Investment

The purpose of this pillar is to unlock just-in-time investment to the private sector that helps grow employment, products and services for refugees and host communities, initially in Jordan.

Pillar 3: Policy Linkages and Institutional Development

The goal of this pillar is twofold: first, to transfer capacity to local authorities and intermediaries to carry on B2B activities on a sustainable basis; and second, to ensure that country-specific policy and sector work benefits from the knowledge gained from investment and matchmaking efforts.

Pillar 4: Global knowledge, outreach and advocacy

This pillar focuses on global knowledge, advocacy and outreach to mobilize the private sector in support of refugees and, more broadly, to engage the private sector and philanthropic actors in committing to tangible action around the Sustainable Development Goals.

As part of its activities under pillar 1 and pillar 3, the project is seeking to enroll a firm to deliver the following three components:

  • Inventory and provision of information on Jordanian firms
  • Performance of business development services
  • Establishment of a standalone B2B matchmaking tracking and follow-up mechanism

In order to enhance the sustainability of the work, the consulting entity is encouraged to consider innovative business models through which, outside the scope of the deliverables under these terms of references, the services provided under this agreement could remain available over time.
