Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund

Overview

His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, a benevolent Emirati businessman, set up a personally funded fund in 2018 to support refugees in order to obtain secondary, vocational and higher education. The fund, whose initiatives span three years, supports high-impact educational programs. The fund also provides support to Arab children affected by wars and disasters in their countries.

The fund offers grants, and the selection process is competitive among organizations that work directly with refugee and conflict-affected children and youth in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Jordan. The Fund has adopted an impact-based approach and works on the foundations of participatory work, working closely to build partners' capacities based on emerging needs on the ground.
